Meet Our Team

Charlene Wright, Managing Member

Prior to founding Wright & Associates, Charlene was a partner at a large national law firm. She founded Wright & Associates to provide clients responsive counsel focused specifically on the energy industry. 


She has deep knowledge of regulations impacting the industry and experience helping clients integrate regulatory requirements into their operations. She helps clients develop compliance frameworks to manage compliance obligations and mitigate risk. She assists clients with ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) Frameworks and reporting and disclosures conforming with TCFD (Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures) recommendations. 


Charlene has managed complex origin, cause and root cause failure investigations, guiding clients through incident response and complex regulatory requirements. She guides clients through comprehensive pipeline safety compliance audits, manages due diligence and handles complex environmental compliance matters, often representing clients with regulators.


She has spoken to numerous industry meetings and published on energy law, and she teaches Continuing Legal Education classes to other attorneys. 


Charlene is licensed to practice in Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Illinois and has handled litigation in 14 states in both federal and state courts.


Charlene earned the following degrees:

  • Master of Public Administration, University of Missouri Kansas City
  • Bachelor of Arts, University of Connecticut

Alexander Monetti, Senior Associate

Alexander Monetti advises clients on federal and state environmental regulations, pipeline safety regulations and occupational health and safety regulations. Alex handles contractual issues that arise in the course of doing business in the energy industry. He works to protect clients’ interests and reduce risk by drafting, modifying and enforcing of a variety of contractual agreements ranging from master service agreements to storage terminal lease agreements and platform boarding agreements. 


Alex conducts privileged environmental audits at pipeline facilities  to help clients maintain compliance.  and assists with permitting applications and failure investigations. He assists clients with preparation for federal and state pipeline safety regulatory and environmental audits. He works closely with clients on proactive compliance measures as well as enforcement defense.


Alex is licensed in Texas, and earned a Juris Doctor (JD) from Loyola University, in Chicago, IL 


Judy Jenkins Hitchye, Associate

Prior to joining Wright & Associates, PLLC, Judy spent the last 14 years practicing law primarily in the world of regulated public utilities. She has spent nearly equal time practicing from both the regulatory prospective and later as in house counsel for public utilities.    She is licensed to practice in Texas and Kansas.


Judy is a member of the Washburn University Foundation, Board of Directors and serves on the board of GLOW (Girls Leading Our World, Inc.)  Judy obtained her BA degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in psychology from Washburn University before earning her Juris Doctorate from Washburn School of Law.   When spare-time can be found, Judy, a mother (and most favorite auntie), enjoys family time, live music, traveling, reading and gardening. 


Brigid Ashcraft, Of Counsel

Brigid Ashcraft is a highly skilled litigator whose practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, with an emphasis in the Oil & Gas/Energy sector. Brigid’s practice also encompasses drafting and reviewing various commercial and real estate contracts. Brigid also acts as the hearing chairperson in Houston for Arbitrations and Ethics hearings for the Texas Association of Realtors (“TAR”). 


Brigid is licensed in  Texas and admitted in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit U.S. District Court, Southern, Eastern and Western District of Texas.  She earned a J.D. from  South Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas, where she was Articles Editor and Member of the South Texas Law Review 


Madeline Albark, Chief Morale Officer (Remote Worker)

Maddie is in her fourth year on the job and a featured participant at firm outings. Before rescuing us, she was a scrawny pup at BARC Animal Shelter here in Houston. We encourage you to fill your morale boosting needs there as well. barcadoptions@houstontx.gov
